Edilflex

Edilflex is a special “short fiber” realized by Barbiflex to strength mortars and concretes.
Added to the traditional components, Edilflex disperses itself in the mixing creating a three-dimensional framework homogeneously distributed able to effectively resist the tensions coming from withdrawals that are this way uniformly distributed; that prevents the formation of fissures and cracks.

Advantages of using Fiber:

  1. Improves plastic characteristic of mixing
  2. Uniformly distributes tensions coming from plastic withdrawal
  3. Improves resistance to the atmospheric agents and to intense cold-thaw cycles
  4. Eliminates macro-fissure and reduces micro-fissuring improving waterproofing
  5. Allows the elimination of non-structural metal grids
  6. Improves the quality of mixing impeding the segregation of the different components

Application fields:

  1. plasters
  2. building recoveries and restoration
  3. industrial and civil paving
  4. plugging and thin plates
  5. prefabricated components
  6. reinforced and non-reinforced concrete
  7. concrete at sight
  8. ingots for paving

Main characteristics:

  1. polypropylene short fiber
  2. great adherence to hydraulic bindings
  3. resistant to chemical and atmospheric agents and to hydraulic bindings
  4. specific gravity: 0.9 g/cm3
  5. hydrophilic finish

Modality of use and dosage
Short Fiber is usually added in quantity of 900 gr/m³ in mixing at medium cement dosage. Greater quantities could be used to obtain a stronger reinforcement compared to the one required as anti-fissuring. Short Fiber can be loaded in a cement mixer or in a building yard without any particular shrewdness; it’s use doesn’t require any increase in the mixing time.
Edilflex is available in two sizes: mm 6 & mm 18
Edilflex is packed in hydro-degradable bags of 900 g., proposed in a 28 pieces box and sacks of 4 + 8 + 24 Kg.
