Edilflex
Edilflex is a special “short
fiber” realized by Barbiflex to strength mortars
and concretes.
Added to the traditional components, Edilflex disperses
itself in the mixing creating a three-dimensional
framework homogeneously distributed
able to effectively resist the tensions coming from withdrawals
that are this way uniformly distributed; that prevents the
formation of fissures and cracks.
Advantages
of using Fiber:
- Improves plastic characteristic of
mixing
- Uniformly distributes tensions coming
from plastic withdrawal
- Improves resistance to the atmospheric
agents and to intense cold-thaw cycles
- Eliminates macro-fissure and reduces
micro-fissuring improving waterproofing
- Allows the elimination of non-structural
metal grids
- Improves the quality of mixing impeding
the segregation of the different components
Application fields:
- plasters

- building recoveries and restoration
- industrial and civil paving
- plugging and thin plates
- prefabricated components
- reinforced and non-reinforced concrete
- concrete at sight
- ingots for paving
Main characteristics:
- polypropylene short fiber
- great adherence to hydraulic bindings
- resistant to chemical and atmospheric
agents and to hydraulic bindings
- specific gravity: 0.9 g/cm3
- hydrophilic finish
Modality of use and dosage
Short Fiber is usually added in quantity of 900 gr/m³
in mixing at medium cement dosage. Greater quantities could
be used to obtain a stronger reinforcement compared to the
one required as anti-fissuring. Short Fiber can be loaded
in a cement mixer or in a building yard without any particular
shrewdness; it’s use doesn’t require any increase
in the mixing time.
Edilflex is available in two sizes: mm 6 & mm 18
Edilflex is packed in hydro-degradable bags of 900 g., proposed
in a 28 pieces box and sacks of 4 + 8 + 24 Kg.
